Hey, Admiral,
spam } ice rink
[Alex spends the time he's not spending with his people at the ice rink right now. It's a good way to let off some steam and get his body back into working order without just hitting the gym. He's also finding he's getting better than he was - less falling, fewer near-wipeouts. It's nice.]
[And eventually it gets kind of zen, just sliding around the ice in circles, not thinking about much at all. Quiet, but not quiet. Sometimes he smiles at nothing, just because he can.]
Even though it's kind of a dick move making us all do this, thanks for getting everything. It's the thought that counts, theoretically. And I've never really done Christmas with this many people, so. Yeah. Anyway.
➽ Lua: Warm clothes – scarves, hats. Pretty ones.
➽ Ben: A football, basketball, and soccer ball, with books on their history and basic instructions. Lots of sheet music for piano, in his favorite style. A tin of hot chocolate. A new jacket, the same kind he already has.
➽ Aeryn: A journal, with nice pens to write down . . . whatever in. A book of photos – like a coffee table book, I guess – with photos of lots of places on Earth, and another of places she misses. Some music – try Buddy Holly.
➽ John: Skates. I feel like he’d like the ice rink.
➽ Nathan: Cologne. Nothing crazy or chemical, just nature smells. Whatever grows in Maine – or the ocean. And a thick scarf, since he probably forgets he’s cold.
➽ Chris: His favorite comic titles, whatever he’s missing right now at home. As long as I’m not in them.
➽ Peter: Music for him too. Chuck Berry. And a blue-and-red earflap hat.
➽ Jean: A sweater. Something big and bulky and comfortable. It has to feel like a hug.
➽ Anya: Crazy deluxe cooking stuff and a baking cookbook.
➽ Charles: Photo album of everybody from home and what they’ve been up to – Darwin, Sean, Hank. Like, three snuggies in different patterns (no camo). Whatever his favorite wine is. A book about the weirdest animals that have ever evolved, with lots of pictures.
➽ Erik: Turtlenecks. One of those day-by-day calendars of me, Darwin, Sean, Hank, and Raven doing something stupid on each day. A white-noise machine for his room for when he needs quiet. Some pieces of cedar for his room.
➽ Raven: Stuff for skating – good tights and a light but warm coat, new skates.
➽ Megamind: North by Northwest. Ben-Hur. The Mummy.
➽ Morgana: Toys and treats for her dog. Something to put her hair up if she wants. And earrings that match her eyes.
➽ Royce: Something that reminds him of whoever his friend is from home. A picture or a keepsake or a gift he doesn’t have anymore. Something to make him feel safe in his cabin – maybe a chime on the door in case somebody comes in. Extra blankets. A baseball and glove.
➽ Snow: A dress, movable and light, something she’d be comfortable in. New protective gear. And a wreath, I think, made of boughs from the forest around her home.
➽ Ellie: A carding brush, for Matilda.
spam } ice rink
